Childminders will be holding their annual Childrens Christmas Party on Sunday
5th December. Father Christmas will be making visit to the children. The event includes food and a disco. Please see your childminder for more information.
September 25, 2010 Alphabet Childminders hosted "World's Biggest Coffee Morning" in aid of Macmillan Cancer support at the Denby Intitute and Recreation Ground, Denby on the 25th of September 10am till 1pm.
We had plenty of things going on that morning like Stalls, Crafts, Cake Sale, Face painting, Tombola, Raffle and much much more! Due to everyones overwhelming support we raised £620! Thank you everyone who came along to join us! Keep your eyes peeled for next years event.

Alphabet Childminders regular charity event was the "Toddle Woddle". This charity event took place with local childminders and their children walking (toddling) around Waingroves Wood, near Ripley, Derbyshire. The children followed a trail of duck for a gentle "waddle" through the wood and included a picnic. £XXX was raised for The Meningitis Trust.

Bill Thompson, Chairman of Derbyshire Childrens Holiday Centre visited us at our play meet to talk to the Childminders who walked from Belper to Ripley dressed as Clowns. A cheque for £155 was handed over to Bill. See photo here.

Alphabet Childminders held their annual Childrens Christmas Party on Saturday 5th December. Father Christmas made a visit to the children and gave them all gifts. The event included food and a disco and the childminders all dressed up as Christmas helpers.

Alphabet Childminders walked from Belper to Ripley dressed as Clowns to collect money in aid of Derbyshire Childrens Holiday Centre and raised £105. When the cheque was presented to Bill Thomlinson, Chairman of the Holiday Centre an additinal £50 donation from the Childminders was added to the total . Alphabet Childminders held an "Open Day" where furture parents and childminders all met. The group where available to help discuss variuos options and availablities for parents to return to work.
There was two drop in sessions held at Waingroves Methodist Church, Church Street, Waingroves, Ripley, Derbyshire DE5 9TF which parents found very usefull.
Another "Open Day" is planned to be held in the centre of Ripley in the near furture, please check back for details.

Alphabet Childminders got together for a "Toddle Woddle". This charity event took local childminder and their children to Shipley Country Park Near Heanor, Derbyshire for a gentle "waddle" around the park and included a picnic. The weather kept dry and they raised £304 for The Meningitis Trust. See photos here.

A Charity Swim was organised at Ripley Leisure Centre were a total of £200 was raised for The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Claire Potter and Zoe Bennett and some of their children swam a total of 443 lenghts.
